Thanks for a great weekend with Carolina y Diego!
This was the largest tango workshop weekend held in North Carolina since Miriam and Hugo’s first visit to the Triangle in August 2001! There were 52 people attending the workshops, with the 2nd Saturday class having 37 people! Saturday’s Milonga at Parizade was particularly impressive with 93 people coming out to dine, dance, and enjoy the performances.
Thank you to our out of town visitors for attending the weekend. We had dancers from as far away as Massachusetts, Richmond VA, Augusta GA. From within the state, we also were fortunate enough to be joined by tangueros from Charlotte, Fayetteville, Asheville, and Wilmington, many of whom stuck around till the end, even as the snow piled up on our cars and the road. We hope you enjoyed the workshops and dancing with our local tango community!
Thank you to everyone that gamely suffered through the frigid Sunday weather and the rescheduling of the workshops.
Thank you to Dan and Sarah Plonski and Andy and Farnoosh Brock for warming up the Parizade crowd with their performance.
Of course, thank you to Carolina and Diego (and the pending Paloma), without whom this weekend wouldn’t have been possible. As always, their lessons were detailed and fun with lots of attention and good humor, and their performance at Parizade inspired us all.
If you are eager to study with them again (before they take a break for the birth of their daughter), then you can use the weekend of Feb 13-15, to join them for a Weekend of Tango in Tampa (Details at http://www.tampatango.com/). We already know of a few people that will be traveling down, and the crowd down in Tampa is as friendly and warm as the weather. If you’d like to join us, let us know!
